How Long Do Brake Lines Usually Last?

i have a set that came form the factory on a car that is more than 40 years old. you dont have to replace them until you damage them. i just got rid of a car with 250,000 miles and still the original lines also. as rob mentioned, the flexible lines will fail over time but the steel lines are good for a very long time.
