Spur Gear getting stripped?

I have a S-Maxx with a 72t 32p spur gear and i drove it for about 40 minutes and now the spur gear is stripped. Why is this? Also during my driving time i jumped the car a lot and i braked hard on the car a lot if that makes a difference at all
