When "helping people" requires supplanting their wishes with your own, is it really helping?

In both cases, you are substituting God's wishes for the other person's wishes. Yes, you are really helping. It is not selfish to bring a person closer to God or to demonstrate God's love for them in ways that they do not think they want. If you do it the way Jesus did, there are no expectations. The gift need not be reciprocated, and the suicide need not be canceled. You are not responsible for the final outcome. That decision lies solely in their own hands. The outcome is between the individual and God.
